Feeding San Diego, a leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization, will be the beneficiary of a new charitable golf tournament happening this spring in Rancho Santa Fe, according to a news release.

The upcoming Pacific Building Group Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, May 6, at The Crosby Club at Rancho Santa Fe and will include a day of exclusive golf, delicious food and drinks, and an auction and raffle—all to raise funds for the nonprofit organization’s critical hunger-relief and food rescue programs that provide more than 35 million meals across San Diego County every year.

“We are proud to support the essential work that Feeding San Diego is doing to address hunger in our community. Our commitment to giving back to the community is a core pillar of our company’s values, and we are honored to contribute to an organization that tirelessly works to provide food to those in need,” said Andre Childers, president of Pacific Building Group, in the news release. “This golf tournament represents a great opportunity for us to come together and have fun, while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who rely on Feeding San Diego’s essential services.”

Feeding San Diego relies on the support of the community to help fund its year-round programs that address food insecurity throughout San Diego County. 96% of the nonprofit’s funding comes from individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations, while just 4% is funded by the government. Corporate support from businesses like Pacific Building Group is key to ensuring the organization, the only Feeding America partner food bank in the region, can provide nutritious meals to children, families, seniors, college students, military families and veterans, the news release stated.

“Feeding San Diego can’t fulfill its mission without the support of our donors. In this time of inflation and with the cost of living in San Diego County at an all-time high, our services are vital to offer support to families who are impacted,” said Ali Colbran, senior director of development at Feeding San Diego, in the news release. “We are incredibly grateful to the team at Pacific Building Group for choosing Feeding San Diego as the beneficiary for their first-ever tournament and look forward to a successful fundraiser that will positively impact the lives of so many of our neighbors.”
