San Diego Zoo Global: Elephant Valley
The Elephant Valley Project is a ground up project located in the central midsection of the existing San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The purpose of this exhibit is to showcase Elephants and other African Marsh Birds in a naturalistic setting with plants, infrastructure, and landscaping similar to their native environment. The space is complete with visitor paths, viewing areas, and hospitality aspects. Various functional structural elements have been built along the visitor path such as The Water Tower, The Manyatta Area, The Palapa Huts, The Passage Bridge, The Koje Deck, and The Elephant Lodge. Being that this is a functional and safe space for exotic animal accommodation, much coordination with veterinary and animal safety entities was necessary to house required equipment needed for the exhibits. This project included work within many specialized market sectors as we have built restaurants, hotel/hospitality spaces, veterinary/animal safe exhibits, specified Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing work, as well as unique art installations and structures.
