Pacific Building Group’s Project Manager, Susie Slater, has received San Diego Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Construction and Design” designation.
As Pacific Building Group’s lead female project manager, Susie is blazing a trail for women in construction and at her firm. She is a part of the community of women who make up 9.1% of the construction industry in the U.S.
Currently, Susie helps oversee the high-profile Portside Pier project at the San Diego Embarcadero that poses many unusual challenges, including the PBG team scheduling work between tides and working off barges and boats. Portside Pier consists of a two-story, curved barrel roof, steel-framed building on top of a new concrete pier and piles over the San Diego Bay.
As a third-year member of CREW (San Diego’s largest commercial real estate organization for women) and co-chair of its sponsorship committee, Susie helps garner support to provide programs that engage and support women in commercial real estate.
